srichakra pooja and other doubts (To Shri. Datta)

Dear Shri. Datta:

 

There are elaborate rules regarding the worship of Sri Chakra. There

are adhishtaana devataas for each of the avaranaas (different layers

of chakras in the Sri Chakra like Trilokhya mohana chakra, etc.).

Each devataa has to be worshipped with reverence and gradually you

will move towards the centre of the chakra where the bindu

representing "Paraa shakti" will be there. Poorna Sri Chakra Pooja

(complete Sri Chakra Pooja) will not be possible for everyone. It

needs proper initiation into Sri Vidya Upaasanaa. However, you can

use the Sri Chakra that has been properly consecrated by a competent

Upaasakaa for your regular worship. Devi Mahaamaayaa - the Primordial

Supreme Herself is ever present in the Sri Chakra. You can worship Her

with the usual 16 fold worship (Aasanam, arghyam, paadyam,

aachamaniyam, etc.) by just saying "Om Sree Chakrasthithaayai Shri

Mahaa Tripurasundaryai namaha {name of the upachaaram} samarpayaami".

Then, you can do archanaa to the Shri Chakram using auspicious flowers

, kumkum, or turmeric powder/ root either with Lalitha

Sahasranaamaavali, Lalitha trisathi naamaavali, or Lalitha Ashtottara

sata Naamaavali depending on your time contraints. Then you can offer

fruits, sugarcandy, or any sweet offering to the Devi. You can do

this worship in the way that is convenient to you.

 

Performance of abhishekam and special worship to Sri Chakram is done

EVERYDAY by Saaktha upaasakaas (Intense devotees of Devi). Others who

possess the Sri Chakram should do the special worship at least on

Fridays and Pournami days. Only those who are initiated into Sri

Vidya Japam are competent to perform the Poorna Sri Chakra Pooja. The

intricacies of the pooja ritual may vary depending on the Acharya

lineage. Generally, guidelines regarding this worship can be obtained

by reading Shri Parasuraama kalpam which is the best work in this

regard.
