Guest guest
Posted by Yaduraja on May 16, 2006: Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, PAMHO, AGTSP You asked previously: > I asked you to prove that Srila Prabhupada wanted to BE what he was, not > that he wanted to DO what he did. (...) And please note the difference > between "to be" and "to do". (Ramakanta das May 15, 2006 - 10:07 AM) I have already explained all this. So here we go again. In this sentence: “Srila Prabhupada made himself recognised and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON in 1966” ....which you agree is proven, the word ‘made’ is the verb or ‘doing word’, and ‘recognition and acceptance as the sole diksa guru’ is what he became (to be). In this sentence there is a direct causal link between what he did, and what he became. In the sentence you agree is proven the act MADE (‘To do’) lead directly to RECOGNITION AND ACCEPTANCE AS THE SOLE DIKSA GURU (to be). I do not have to prove that Srila Prabhupada wanted to do what he did to become what he became. I also do not have to prove he wanted to be what he made himself become. If he acted in a certain way to make a position for himself then we assume he wanted to do that. The spiritual master never acts in ignorance or against his free will. Devotional service is all voluntary, and carried out with deliberate spiritual intelligence to fulfil a pre-ordained plan. Thus we do not need to speculate as to what was Krishna’s plan regarding how initiation should run within ISKCON, we just need to see what Srila Prabhupada established since the spirutal master is simply carrying out Krishna’s plan. You say this is speculation but, as on so many issues, you are just plain wrong. It is an axiom of our philosophy. Thus the burden of proof is on you to prove that Srila Prabhupada did not want to do what he did to become what he was, or that he did not want to become that which he made himself through deliberate, voluntary acts. I am sure you’ll get the point eventually, it's tough debating in a second language i know. Best wishes Ys Yadu
