RE: doubt abut Lord Krishna birth and Mahabaratham war

Dear Devotees,

I came to know Lord Krishna was borned 27/7/3112 BCE. But Mahabaratham war started 22/11/3067 BCE. That is before Lord Krishan born, war started. How it is possible. Can any one explain me about my doubt?

Shriman Ramesh Pillai,

The current almanac is based on Christian Era.i.e, after the birth of Jesus Christ. That means Christ was born 2006 years ago. The period earlier to the birth of Christ was refered as BCE (Before Christ Era). In that case, if a person (A) was born 1000 years prior to the birth of Christ would said to have born in the year 1000 BCE . Similarly if (B) was born 800 years prior to christ would said to have born in the year 800 years BCE. Since the numbers are in the decending order A is elder than B by 200 years. By this arguement, Krishna was 45 years when Mahabaratha war took place. I hope you would have taken the dates from the book titled "Ancient History of India Through Vedic Astronomy", authored by Shri. N.P.RAMADURAI, with Dr.S.P. Sabharathnam, Ph.D and Sri. V.Sundaram, I.A.S. (Retd) as co-authors (published by International Society for the Investigation of Ancient Civilizations, Chennai -600 032), as these details are available in page 22 of the

book. Similarly, in page 21, dates of certain important events as deciphered in Ramanayana is furnished below for easy understanding.

1. Rama's date of birth = 10th January 4439, B.C. (Chaitra Sukla Navami)

2. Ramaa's departure to = 4414 B.C. (Chitra Sukla Saptami)

3. Hanuman's Entry into = 4401 BC (Magha Chaturdasi Purnima)

Lanka

4. Rama.s Coronation = 4400 ( chaitra Sukla Saptami), Friday.

From the above details, we can infer, Rama went to forest at the age of 25, Hanuman entered Lanka, when Rama was 38 years old, and Rama.s Coronation was celebrated when He was 39 years old. I hope this would have cleared your doubt.

The years in BCE is in decreasing order. Therefore you might have got confused with the dates.

It is stated Rama's date of birth = 10th January 4439.modern calendar shows the birth month as April every year.
