Hare Krishna.

Good Srimad Bhagavatam Class:

Take the verse and the purport, and take it apart piece by piece, carefully

explaining the meaning and philosophy behind it and giving *practical*

examples of how to apply this in our day-to-day lives.

Percent of classes using this format: a tiny fraction.

Bad Srimad Bhagavatam class:

Using the verse and purport as a starting point, engage in a

stream-of-consciousness discourse, saying whatever comes into your head, so

long as it came from somewhere in the scriptures. Be sure to include at

least one story from the scriptures which has absolutely no practical

application in the life of a contemporary person, but present it in such a

way that one is made to feel as if it is his obligation to live his life in

the same way. Be sure to go on like this at least 30 minutes past the normal

length of a Bhagavatam class.

Percent of classes using this format: most.
