Guest guest
Excerpts from Lecture by HH Radhanath Maharaj. That is material life. We want higher position. We want a position where we are respected, feared by others. And ultimately, when you get such a high position, then you start thinking that you are equal to or better than the person who gave you everything. The spiritual master's mercy is, he picks us up from a materialistic way of life and gives us bhakti. Advanced devotees are helping in this way. Then we start giving up our sinful activity, we start, somehow or other chanting the Holy name, then we start learning some shlokas, then we start becoming expert in preaching, then we start becoming good managers, good cooks, start getting all sorts of empowered virtues, by the grace of Guru and Krishna. We become so much infatuated by pride and we commit so many offenses to our godbrothers and godsisters, by thinking we are better than them. Then the next thing that happens is that we think we know better than our Guru. And then what does Krishna do? "Punar mustika bhava" again you become a neophyte. This is the result. If you are not properly following and honouring our godbrothers and godsisters, the false pride that is created through that ultimately goes through 'Vaishnava aparadha' to 'Guru aparadha' which is aparadha to Krishna Himself. So the basic principle which will keep us in this Krishna Consciousness movement is honour and respect to our godbrothers and godsisters and all the Vaishnavas. This is how we will show we are nonenvious. We should pray to Krishna to free us from this envious nature - His Holiness Radhanath Maharaj
