Lord Caitanya used to chant in front of Tulasidevi

Sri Caitanya-bhagavata Antya 8.159-160:

 

sankhya nama laite ye stane prabhu vase

tahai rakhena tulasira prabhu pase

 

tulaire dekhena japena sankhya-nama

e bhakti-yogera tattva ke bujhibe ana

 

Wherever the Lord (Caitanya) sits to chant His rounds, He keeps tulasi

before Him. He gazes at tulasi while He chants His rounds. Who can

understand the science of devotional service?

 

Cc Antya 3.137, Thakura Haridasa instructs the prostitute:

 

nirantara nama lao, kara tulasi sevana

acirat pabe tabe krsnera carana"

 

"Chant the Hare Krsna mantra continuously and render service to the tulasi

plant by watering her and offering prayers to her. In this way you will very

soon get the opportunity to be sheltered at the lotus feet of Krsna."
