This is my recent sloka I memorised it's a great verse for renunciates and

vanaprathas alike.

vyudasta-m€yo 'ntar-gato hi kiˆ punaƒ

SYNONYMS

sakt-once only; yat-whose; a‰ga-pratim€-the form of the Supreme Lord (there

are many forms, but KŠa is the original form); antaƒ-€hit€-placing within

the core of the heart, somehow or other; manaƒ-may…-thinking of Him even by

force; bh€gavat…m-which is competent to offer devotional service to the

Lord; dadau-KŠa gave; gatim-the best destination; saƒ-He (the Supreme

Personality of Godhead); eva-indeed; nitya-always; €tma-of all living

entities; sukha-anubhûti-anyone thinking of Him immediately enjoys

transcendental pleasure; abhivyudasta-m€yaƒ-because all illusion is

completely removed by Him; antaƒ-gataƒ-He is always present within the core

of the heart; hi-indeed; kim punaƒ-what to speak.

TRANSLATION

If even only once or even by force one brings the form of the Supreme

Personality of Godhead into one's mind, one can attain the supreme salvation

by the mercy of KŠa, as did Agh€sura. What then is to be said of those

whose hearts the Supreme Personality of Godhead enters when He appears as an

incarnation, or those who always think of the lotus feet of the Lord, who is

the source of transcendental bliss for all living entities and by whom all

illusion is completely removed?

adana-by the partaking; vidhuta-removed entirely; dvandva-of duality;

dharmah-their propensities; vinastah-ruined; sapadi-immediately; grha-their

Vrndavana); vihangah-(like) birds; bhiksu-of begging; caryam-the livelihood;

caranti-they pursue.

TRANSLATION

To hear about the pastimes that Krsna regularly performs is nectar for the

ears. For those who relish just a single drop of that nectar, even once,

their dedication to material duality is ruined. Many such persons have

suddenly given up their wretched homes and families and, themselves becoming

wretched, traveled here to Vrndavana to wander about like birds, begging for

their living.

PURPORT

Material duality is based on falsely thinking, "This is mine, and that is

yours," or "This is our country, and that is yours," or "This is my family,

and that is yours," and so on. In fact, there is one Absolute Truth, in

which we all exist and to whom everything belongs. His beauty and pleasure

are also absolute and infinite, and if one actually hears about this

Absolute Truth, called Krsna, one's dedication to the illusion of mundane

duality is spoiled.

According to the acaryas, and certainly in accord with Sanskrit grammar, the

last two words of the second line of this text may also be divided

dharma-avinastah. Then the entire line becomes part of a single compound,

the meaning of which is that hearing about Krsna cleanses one of irreligious

duality and thus one is not vanquished (avinasta) by material illusion. The

word dinah is then given the alternate reading of dhirah, meaning that one

becomes spiritually sober and thus gives up attachment to fleeting material

relationships. The word vihangah, "birds," would in this case refer to

swans, the symbol of essential discrimination.

MM note--- it is the second reading of this sloka that appeals personally to

me. Vrndavana vasa means not only in person, but in the mind and heart we

dwell in Vrndavana by hearing the specific Krsna katha that specially

attracts the heart and mind of a devotee. That choice and taste is very

individual, yet in Vrindavana there is sufficient room for all vaisnavas of

varying taste.
