Guest guest
Bhagavad-g…t€ 5.24 yo ’ntaƒ-sukho ’ntar-€r€mas tath€ntar-jyotir eva yaƒ sa yog… brahma-nirv€Šaˆ brahma-bh™to ’dhigacchati One whose happiness is within, who is active and rejoices within, and whose aim is inward is actually the perfect mystic. He is liberated in the Supreme, and ultimately he attains the Supreme. PURPORT Unless one is able to relish happiness from within, how can one retire from the external engagements meant for deriving superficial happiness? A liberated person enjoys happiness by factual experience. He can, therefore, sit silently at any place and enjoy the activities of life from within. Such a liberated person no longer desires external material happiness. This state is called brahma-bh™ta, attaining which one is assured of going back to Godhead, back to home. ---- "[...] He can, therefore, sit silently at any place... [...] From your letter, I can understand you are confused in your mind, because you do not want this, you do not want that, you might like another, like that. That position of confusion is not very much desirable, so you are a Vaisnava, now rid yourself of such misunderstanding of things. Vaisnava means one who is able to sit down anywhere, under any conditions, and be happy. He wants only a place to lay down, a little prasadam, and if there's a little service he can do, gladly let me do it for Krishna, that's all. [...] ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, letter to Bhagavatananda, New York, 8 July, 1972 VaiŠava means for himself he has no problem, but he is very, very, I mean, morose, by seeing others in distressed condition without KŠa consciousness. This is VaiŠava. A VaiŠava has no problem. He can sit down anywhere and chant Hare KŠa. Everything will be supplied to him. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, lecture on ®r…mad-Bh€gavatam 1.2.2, Rome, May 26, 1974 In the parampar€ system from N€rada Muni, I have also been cursed. Although I have many centers that would be suitable places of residence, I cannot stay anywhere, for I have been cursed by the parents of my young disciples. Since the KŠa consciousness movement was started, I have traveled all over the world two or three times a year, and although I am provided comfortable places to stay wherever I go, I cannot stay anywhere for more than three days or a week. I do not mind this curse by the parents of my disciples, but now it is necessary that I stay in one place to finish another task—this translation of ®r…mad-Bh€gavatam. If my young disciples, especially those who have taken sannyäsa, take charge of traveling all over the world, it may be possible for me to transfer the curse of the parents to these young preachers. Then I may sit down conveniently in one place for the work of translation. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, ®r…mad-Bh€gavatam 6.5.44, purport "Do you have a home?" Prabhup€da smiled: "I have 102 houses, but nowhere am I allowed to live. That is the difficulty." ----- Kurma das, The Great Transcendental Adventure, 'The Southernmost Part of this Globe---Part II, p. 619. We can sit down anywhere on the grass here, and whatever available we make our food. This is the idea. Life will be sublime. Man-man€ bhava mad-bhakto mad-y€j… m€m. That is real business. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, Room Conversation, August 3, 1976, Paris We invite people all over the world, “Please come and join with this chanting, Hare KŠa.” Actually, whatever development has been made, it is only by this process. We don’t impose any, I mean to say, regulation in the beginning. No. “Please come and sit down and hear about KŠa.” ®ravaŠam. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, lecture on Bhagavad-g…t€ 4.23, Bombay, April 12, 1974 ---- "[...] and enjoy the activities of life from within." That is real knowledge. Jñ€na-vair€gya-yuktay€ munayaƒ payanty €tma... For him, it is not difficult to find out where is God. He can immediately find out God sitting within his heart. Immediately. Prem€ñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santaƒ sadaiva hdayeu vilokayanti. Anywhere he can sit down and he can talk with God, he can see God, he can take direction from God. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, lecture on ®r…mad-Bh€gavatam 1.2.12, Vnd€vana, October 23, 1972 He [KŠa] is trying to help you. And when you are actually taking the advantage of that help, and if you are engaged with love and affection in the transcendental service of the Lord, then you can talk with God from within. God is within you. You haven’t got to find out God in so many places. Anywhere you can sit down. ----- ®r…la Prabhup€da, Initiation of ®r…-Caitanya d€sa and Wedding of Pradyumna and Arundhat…, Columbus, May 14, 1969 Hare KŠa Your humble servant, bhakta Rogier.
