Guest guest
Dear Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja PAMHO. AGTSP Instead of making uneccessary tirade on this great book, why don't you just get a copy (I will send you one) and read it first, then you can make adequate assessment. The book has 27 chapters. The contents of the first 24 chapters are already part of Caitanya Bhagavata, also authored by Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura. Which means the authentication of Nityananda-caritamrta is unquestionable. You may have problem of the last three chapters mainly because you are not familiar with it. Just because you are not familiar with something, does that make it unbonafide? Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura was in fact well aware of the book. According to my information, he infact approve the book for the disciples. In this case of course it is a question of which of the disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta you want to accept as authority., since you have not talked to every disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta, nor have you asked our own Srila Prabhupada about the existence of a separate compilation of Nityananda-caritamrta. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta was compiling Gaudiya Vaisanava abhidana, but was not completed before he left the planet. So who is to tell whether Srila Bhaktisiddhanta would not have included the book in the Gaudiya Vaisnava abhidana? Dina Bandhu Prabhu, a very respected and senior disciple of Srila Prabhupada, is the editor. Are you saying he did not go through thouroughly on the subject of the book while editing? Or you want to say he is not familiar about the tenets of Vaisnava siddhanta as much as you do? As a matter of fact Dina Bandhu finds it amusing that you are making a tirade on the book. This book is not about Nityananda-vamsa. You will not find any single sentence propagating such view. The last chapter mentioned about the appreance of Vircandra Prabhu. The chapter glories Virchandra Prabhu in a nutshell, but nothing there in the book suggest a descendant of Lord Nityananda through Birabhadra or any short. So we should just rest aside the issue of Nityananda-vamsa whether bonafide or not, as it is not in anyway associated with this publication. ys, Isvara dasa.
