Both in his translation of and commentary on this verse, Prabhupada closely

follows Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura's Bengali verse explanation and

commentary. While in the CC this verse has the word "asritah", in the SB it

has the word "asthitah." This does not make any difference. Bhaktivinoda

Thakura has also summarized the meaning of this verse in his

Amrta-pravaha-bhasya. It is not exactly the same as Prabhupada's verse

translation (which is more based on BSST's commentary), but still very

similar.

As far as other acaryas commenting on this verse in the context of the

Bhagavatam, there are of course a number of important commentaries that

could be considered. Sanatana Gosvami has written the longest that I have

seen. But since in our BBT edition only Jiva Gosvami's and Visvanatha's

commentaries on this verse are mentioned, I will say a few words about these

in my comment on Mother Krsna Kirtana's post.

Here too, Bhaktivinoda and Bhaktisiddhanta have both commented. Bhaktivinoda

has given just a short summary of the verse by explaining the meaning of the

words "vidhilin", "avasya kartavya", "anyatha" and "pratyavaya."

Bhaktisiddhanta's commentary is much longer than Bhaktivinoda's. In

Prabhupada's purport one can find practically all of the points that BSST

made in his Anubhasya.
