I quote this often too!

I love them all! And yes! I *do* quote them all, and even the one about

women, after all (understandably) as a Brahmacari I don't have to *love* the

unpleasant strange side of the opposite sex.

but then again, women don't have to like us either, (if the mothers don't

want to offer us charity for some reason or other while the brahmacaries go

on madhukari).

That's their free will, too!

Glories to your service, and again thanks for responding to this posting.

With all due regards to truely dutiful and exalted householders, I think

that Krsna is definitely refering to vaisnavi's like you when he says:

....kirtir srir vak ca narinam...

It would be interesting to see what the criteria were that determiend

whether a given verse made it into the BBT edition. If verses found

to be not bonafide were excluded, then we certainly should not quote

them either. I see that Dravida prabhu is included among the recivers

of this thread, maybe he can enlighten us?

I find this very odd. If a verse is not bonafide and expresses

negative sentiments about some devotees, why would anyone take

pleasure in quoting it?

The explanation is this: Long before the BBT decided to publish the

Mukunda-mala-stotra, completing a work Srila Prabhupada began in 1960 or so,

Kusakratha Prabhu produced a translation and I got a copy of it. This is the

one I used to make my original tape. The edition Kusakratha used had more

verses in it than the one Srila Prabhupada was using (these ancient books

often vary from one edition to the other). One of the verses not in Srila

Prabhupada's edition was ma me stritvam. The BBT published a translation of

the Mukunda-mala that Srila Prabhupada was translating.
