I don't agree. Prabhupada never quoted from Charlie Chaplin in any book. The printed word is considered to be much more authoritative than speech. Especially if the quoting is to prove a very high philosophical point and it has been quoted along with the quotes from the Upanishads etc. Garga Samhita has been quoted by Thakura Bhaktivinoda along with quotes from Upanishads in the Amnaya Sutra. If the authenticity of Garga Samhita had some element of doubt, Thakur Bhaktivinoda would not have quoted from it because the acaryas are always aware that quoting from even a siddhantically right section from an unauthentic book makes the book authorized. Also the quote from an unauthorized book in a particular work undermines the bonafidity of the work itself. So Thakura Bhaktivinoda would never do that.
