Guest guest
Dear Tapakarini dd, and Bhaktin Alla. jaya Prabhupada. One last instruction for you both regarding Nectar. Once one devotee asked Srila Gaura-Kishor das Babaji how much it took to get Prema bhakti. Babaji Maharaja replied," 10 paisa". You go down to the market and buy Prema-Bhakti Candrika, and sing it". I personally experienced in 1978-1982 as a very lonely pujari in ST. Louis MO. USA that I was inspired to follow one of Srila Prabhupada's instruction in that regard. (I heard on one darshana he gave to an Indian man in Dallas in 1975) for Pujaries to sing the arati and bhajanas to the deity themselves instead of playing tapes. I followed that to my best ability. All day long I sang From Bhaktivinoda thakura's bhajanas Saranagati and Gitavali. I was literally floating in bliss! I had to do all the aratis (6) full dressing twice a day, making elaborate flower vases, taking care of 20-30 Tulasi trees. No time to sleep more than 4 1/2 hours a day and eating one meal at 10 pm at night. In retrospect, I feel, that because I sang Bhajanas all day long from memory, it was *definitely* the happiest service I've done to date in Iskcon. My god-brother Vibhu Caitanya (now very old in his late 60's in Vrndavana) used to sing similarly in the deity kitchen in 1975 and Prabhupada glorified it much. Try to learn, memorise and sing the Bhajanas of Bhaktivinoda thakura. Now Saranangai and Gitavali are in Russian and hopefully next year Kalyana-Kalpataru will be there too. If you sing all day, you'll be near the Lord and you won't feel at all lonely. Try it yourself today and see for yourself 6 months from now if your devotional and material life is much better from doing such service of singing. ys MMDASBR
