karma is adjusted by Krsna's intervention only

This is supported e.g. by Lord Siva in the recently posted

Sri-mantra-raja-pada-stotra (9):

 

saksat sva-kale sampraptam

mrtyum satru-gananvitam

bhaktanam nasayed yas tam

mrtyu-mrtyum namamy aham

 

saksat-in person; sva-kale-at the appropriate time;

sampraptam-arrived; mrtyum-death; satru-gana-the horde of enemies;

anvitam-along with; bhaktanam-of the devotees; nasayet-can destroy;

yah-who; tam-Him; mrtyu-mrtyum-the death of death; namami-offer my

respectful obeisances; aham-I.

 

I offer my obeisances unto He, the death of death itself, who can

destroy the death of His devotees even when it has arrived in person

at the appropriate time, what to speak of destroying their enemies.
