Guest guest
Hare Krishna, It is common that after initiation all newly initiated devotees go around and collect daksina for their Guru Maharaja. Is there any shastric statement, which varnas and asramas should do it or not? Usually donations are collected by brahmacaris, vanaprasthas and sannyasis, also Brahmins grihasthas, can collect donations. Should devotees, who have jobs or businesses, collect donations from others, or they should just give donations from their income (which seems to me more natural varnasrama way)? As I know only Brahmins and renunciates can collect donations, other varnas are prohibited. Or initiation ceremony is an exception? Ys Shatakula d.
