Hare Krishna,

I may say a few words, Please tolerate me.

Vedabase > Krsna > Pradyumna Born to Kåñëa and Rukmiëé

It is said that Cupid, who is directly part and parcel of Lord Väsudeva

and who was formerly burned to ashes by the anger of Lord Çiva, took

birth from the womb of Rukmiëé, begotten by Kåñëa. This is Kämadeva, a

demigod of the heavenly planets especially capable of inducing lusty

desires. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kåñëa, has many grades of

parts and parcels, but the quadruple expansions of Kåñëa—Väsudeva,

Saìkarñaëa, Pradyumna and Aniruddha—are directly in the Viñëu category.

Käma, or the Cupid demigod, who later took his birth from the womb of

Rukmiëé, was also named Pradyumna, but he cannot be the Pradyumna of the

Viñëu category. He belongs to the category of jéva-tattva, but for

exhibiting special power in the category of demigods he was a part and

parcel of the superprowess of Pradyumna. That is the verdict of the

Gosvämés.

> Pradyumna and Aniruddha are also expansions of the

> Personality of Godhead, and thus They are also visnu-tattva.

So considering the above two references. One might get perplexed how two

personalities can be attributed to the same person. This is not new in

puranas. This is because of there is a implicit understanding that two

personalities can reside in the same body simultaneously.

In Bhagavatam we can find references about how Arjuna was simultaneously

"Nara" part of the Nara - Narayana Rsi and also the plenary expansion of

demigod Indra.

And from Gaudiya scriptures we can find that Sri Advaita acarya was

infact both Maha vishnu and Sadasiva combined. And in Gaura Ganodesa

dipika we can find numerous references like this. For example,

37. Srimati Yasoda-devi and Vraja's king Nanda, who had been like two

great oceans of the nectar of love for Krsna during the Lord's pastimes

in

Vrndavana, appeared during Lord Caitanya's pastimes as Srimati Saci-devi

and Sriman Jagannatha Purandara. Of this there is no doubt.

38/39. Some devotees say that the two demigods Aditi and Kasyapa, who

incarnated as Kausalya and Dasaratha, Prsni and Sutapa, and also as

Devaki

and Vasudeva, the parents of Balarama and Krsna, also entered the bodies

of Saci-devi and Jagannatha. These devotees say that if this were not

so,

then it would not have been possible for Balarama to take birth as their

son

Visvarupa.

The combination of personalities could belong to different categories

jiva, visnu, siva or sakti tattva. Even the case of a person being

posessed by evil spirits or ghost is nothing but an example of more than

one jiva residing or exercising the same body.

So one possible explanation could be that different personalities use

the same body at different times.

>>Why did Krishna's grandson, Anirudha, engage in sexual activities with

>>Usa? It doesn't seem to have been spiritual?....... Is it then that

>>Anirudha is by category a Vishnu tattva?

So this phenomenon needs be considered before trying to explain the

activities of personalities like Pradyumna or Aniruddha. The Supreme

Person is "atmarama" he doesn't need any external source to enjoy.

Your Servant,

Laksmi Nrsinghadeva das
