Disciples names

We see some disciples being giving the names of those who are either envious

of Krishna or His devotees, the Pandava. I don't see a spiritual value when

a disciple is being giving "Ekalavya, or Sakuni" at the time of initiation.

Couldn't this be a disservice to the disciple? It will be nice to hear what

devotees have to say. Could it be that the gurus often run out of names to

name the disciples, that they have to resort to giving the disciples such

names as "Ekalavya, Sakuni, Rukmi, etc."
