Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. One point from Mahabharata is regarding when the Pandavas were entering the thirteenth year of their exile and they made plans to enter Virata as advised by Dharma. On the way they hid their weapons in a tree, wrapped in cloth. > The P€Šavas then made their way toward the city. They passed some cowherd > men and told them that they had just placed their mother’s body on the > tree. “This is our ancient custom,” Yudhi˜hira said. “We have placed our > old mother’s body high in the tree. May she attain to the blessed heavenly > regions.” How is it that Maharaja Yudhisthira spoke these words when he is famous for his virtue and morality, to the extent that he could not lie on the battlefield that Asvatthama was dead. To quote from the Mahabharata we are studying, "The P€Šavas would sooner invite death than speak an untruth."
