Hare Krishna,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All

glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga.

>RukmiŠ… offered her prayers to the deity by saying, “My dear goddess

>Durg€, I offer my respectful obeisances unto you as well as to

>your children.” Goddess Durg€ has four famous children: two daughters—

>the goddess of fortune, Lakm…, and the goddess of learning, Sarasvat…—

>and two sons, Lord GaŠea and Lord K€rttikeya.

(Krsna Book: Chapter 53 Krsna Kidnaps Rukmini)

Any referance for how Laxmi and Saraswati became the daughters of Durga.

your humble servant,

rohinipriyadas
