Guest guest
Thanks for input, > It is said that one who offers obeisances to a sanyasi or takes remnants > of a spiritual advanced person he gets the results of his spiritual > activities. I never took this as some karma kanda. Frankly I don't see the direct connection with my original point. Whatever transfer of qualities takes place in our contact with devotees and Krsna doesn't really matter. Offering obeisances or taking Maha-prasadam has nothing to do with karma kanda as well as the chanting of the holy name. I was speaking about introducing the MOOD of giving the benefits of one's chanting to others. Perhaps it would be interesting to hear something from Sastra on the subject matter. I couldn't find anything like that in Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu, Harinama Cintamani and Bhakti Sandarbha. Only in HC Haridas Thakur in responce to the question by Lord Caitanya "how we can save all living beings" says that to benefit others we have to "chant loudly to MAKE THEM HEAR the holy names". And to the best of my knowledge I can't remember Srila Prabhupada's advising to chant rounds for others. Any evidence for such practice? > Maybe we can take also as exchange of love. I chanted once for a devotee > having problems and it helped, but I considered the rounds as an prayer to > Krishna to help this devotee. In Lord Caitanya's times devotees were even > more merciful then the most merciful avatar himself. Prayer for others is a bona fide devotional mood, but chanting rounds for others with a view to transfer the fruit of chanting is a bit different thing, isn't it?
