This means "Brahman is known only through the scriptures [revelation]".

It is a verse from Vedanta-sutra (1.1.3). Yoni means source or womb,

but I don'\t know what the '-tvat' bit means.

 

Would there be more information in the Vedabase?

My humble comment:

tvat is used to state that this is the quality of something. Like the

quality which can not be separated from the thing. Like fire is burning,

water is liquid.
