I heard that as far as maharathas and other -rathas participated in the war,

they were counted according to their tittle(e.g. maharatha=10000 people).

The world population on 01/01/1970 was 3,912,179,459 ...., MORE than

the 6,400,000 or 640,000,000 figures.

 

Now the world's population is around 6.5 billion (6,500,000,000).
