I can't answer your query, but as an interesting aside in this connection, there is a variant version of this sloka said to be current among Oriya panditas: aham vedmi suko vetti vyaso vetti na vetti va | sridharo sakalam vetti sri nrsimha-prasadatah || "I know. Suka knows. Vyasa knows, or may not know. Sridhara knows everything, by the grace of Sri Nrsimha." Sridharasvami is said to have been in the Rudra sampradaya, which seems consistent with what H.H.Gauragovinda maharaja said as cited above. As far as I remember what happened is that Sridhara Swami's commentary on Bhagavatam was caused some controversy, and the pandits not being able to come to a conclusion on its bonafidity submitted it to Kasi Visvanath for his verdict, which was transmitted as the sloka quoted above. NB Sri Nrsimhadeva is the worshipable Deity of Sridhara Swami.
