Amrta-bindu Upanisad 2 mana eva manusyanam karanam bandha-moksayoh bandhaya visayasango muktyai nirvisayam manah manah-the mind; eva-indeed; manusyanam-of men; karanam-the cause; bandha-of bondage; moksayoh-and of liberation; bandhaya-for bondage; visaya-in sense objects; asangah-attachment; muktyai-for liberation; nirvisayam-free from sense gratification; manah-the mind. For man, mind is the cause of bondage and mind is the cause of liberation. Mind absorbed in sense objects is the cause of bondage, and mind detached from the sense objects is the cause of liberation.
