It's more likely an extrapolation of the > well-known Rajju-bhujaga nyaya. thank you maharaj, for taking time. i am not sure whether i made it clear to you what i was asking. the story i was referring to goes like this (you might have heard anyway): when SBSST asked some of his disciples to beat a snake which was factually a rope, some disciples refused to do so saying something like "guru maharaj, it's not a snake but a rope" but one disciple started beating it BECAUSE it was his spiritual master's order not believing in his own defective senses (eyes in this case) to judge what the object actually was. Seeing this SBSST was very pleased with him and appreciated him. have you heard this story to be bona fide? it certainly makes sense and a great lesson to many devotees.
