Guest guest
Vaikuntha is indeed aisvarya-rasa, but aisvarya-rasa also has its place. Many sincere Vaishnavas, for example in the Sri Sampradaya and the classical Madhva-sampradaya aspire for this. I do not know their theology well enought to further analyze their path. The difference is only between sva-sukha-aisvarya pradanakari and prema-seva-pradanakari, of which the first is never acceptable for pure Vaishnavas, and the latter may be acceptable under certain conditions. However, neither of them are accaptable for those in the line of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. There is not a single instance in our sampradaya of an acaryas' aspiring for Vaikuntha-rasa. Those who seriously aspire for Vaikuntha-rasa for the sake of Vishnu's prema-seva are to be honored as pure Vaishnavas, but they are simply not regarded Vaishnavas in the Gaudiya line. Yes, indeed none of us is right or wrong. sadhu sastra guru-vakya hrdoye koriya aikya satata bhasibo prema majhe "In my heart I will always see the words of the saints, the scriptures and the Guru as one and the same. Thus I will always float in prema." Hence in our discussions I have attempted my level best to faithfully repeat the words of the saints, the scripture and the Guru. I trust our devotees are considerate enough to not refute their precepts, although presented by a lowly and despicable personality such as myself. Feel free to correct me when you feel there is deviation from the acaryas, but please do not refute the acaryas. > > Those who reach the Vaikuntha planets through these four types of > > liberation obtain the fruit of transcendental happiness and opulence. > > Servitors or devotees of the Lord never accept such liberation under any > > circumstances, and the prema bhaktas or loving devotees never accept any > > one of the five varieties of mukti. > > > i'm quite surprised that there continues to be criticism of one line of > someone's text (i can't even remember who initially started the thread) but > there has been no comment on this text above. it seems quite clear to me. > isn't vaikuntha aisvarya-rasa? and are we not striving for bhakti? the two > are completely different. in light of Bhaktivinode Thakura's quote from > Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (1.2.55-57) above, what need is there of this 'you're > wrong and i'm right' dialog? - "Braja" <Braja (AT) pamho (DOT) net> "(Bhaktiratna) Sadhu Swami (Caitanya Bhag.
