I just had a peak into Jayadeva Goswami's Gita Govinda, translated by

Gadadhara prana dasa. The book is nothing but x-rated which will inflame the

passion of any brahmacari or any serious devotee. Gita Govinda is a bonafide

scripture that was relished by Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. However,

unscruplous people have tried to translated this book with their mundane

understanding of the Radha-Krishna conjugal dealings. It is quite dangerous,

because it will create a huge misunderstanding of the Supreme Lord along

with His internal pleasure potency.

The alarming part is that this book is being sold in Vrindavana in Los

Bazar, where many devotees (old and young alike) who cannot make any

discrimination as to what to read and what not to read, are purchasing this

book.

Is there anything that can be done to stop this? Of course every devotee is

independent, but some do aknowledge authourity whether in ISKCON or in

Gaudiya Matha. Is there a way to appeal to various leaders in both camps to

appeal to their followers about the danger involved in reading such

unathourised translation?

Your servant,

Isvara dasa.
