Guest guest Posted April 1, 2002 Report Share Posted April 1, 2002 I just met another Sri Vaisnava scholar who said that Hanuman's having a club is mentioned in Mahabharat in the incident when Bhima going to collect celestial flowers for Draupadi encountered a monkey (his elder brother Hanuman) on the path. However from Valmiki Ramayana it seems clear that the monkeys at the time of assisting Rama specifically did not use sophisticated weapons and used only boulders and trees to fight with.
