Guest guest
Any sadhaka who endeavors to progress on the path of bhakti should try to understand the difference between Visnu-bhakti and Krishna-bhakti, Vaikuntha-prema and Vraja-prema etc. This is plain basic bhakti-tattva, and unawareness of such basic truths is called tattva-bhrama. Sri Upadesamrta (The Nectar of Instruction) of Rupa Gosvamipada, verses 9-11, encourage us to discriminate between different levels of dhama, bhakta and prema. Such discrimination is certainly helpful for aspirants on the path of devotion. In these verses, Sri Rupa Gosvami kindly helps the sadhaka fix his goal of practice. This is helpful in swiftly attaining the goal. Generally in life, and especially on the path of bhakti, it is very helpful to first try to figure out where one is heading at, and then get going, not the other way around. Prematurity means disinterest in the verses preceding verses 9-11, and anyone who is serious about following the verses 1-8 should also seriously contemplate on verses 9-11 to succeed in his practice. I assume the audience here understands the seriousness and necessity of these verses and tries to apply them in practical life to the best of their capacity. Am I right? > This statement is made purely out of ignorance due to tattva-bhram. If you > are not interested in visnu-bhakti, then what are you interested in? > Maya-bhakti? Why prematurely making a difference between visnu-bhakti and > krishna-bhakti. I thought we are trying to be Vaisnavas. Vaisnava means > devotees of Visnu.
