Thus devotees would always quote them and explain their purport in ecstasy." (Caitanya Caritamrta, Madhya-lila 9.146, purport) So I think no fault should be attributed to Madhavananda Prabhuji if he again quotes and explains this verse in ecstacy, since this has been the practice since the times of Lord Sri Caitanya.
