If we apply this logic then those who worship Lakshmidevi only for material benefit would go to Vaikuntha because Lord Visnu is the consort of Lakshmi. Like Madhavananada Prabhu pointed out, Durga plays a double role. For those who approach her for material benefit, she perpetually keeps them in the material world by fulfilling their material desires, and for those who are sincere, she directs them towards the path of krsna-bhakti and gradually releases them from her influence as they advance in Krsna-bhakti.
