You got one thing right, which is I'm new. But your reply contained the history of mangala arotik (and the new style which you don't approve of) in ISKCON. My query basically was to find out where in scriptures attending/ performing mangala aarti is specified at. I'm a person of few words, and hence i expressed my query very concisely, and probably got misunderstood. I just asked the questions because someone asked me, and all I could tell him was that Srila Prabhupada has told us to do so, and it makes one progress rapidly on spiritual path. So far I haven't received any mail from anyone with scriptural references. Please forgive me for any offenses I might have committed.
