"I have a very close connection with Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti. Yourself,

and particularly Sripad Vaman Maharaja, are well aware of the fact that I am

one of the three persons who founded Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti. We had

conceived of the idea of the formation of Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti at

Bosapada Lane, Calcutta, even before Srila (Kesava) Maharaja accepted

sannyasa."

(An excerpt from a letter by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada to

Srila Bhaktivedanta Trivikrama Maharaja, Oct. 22, 1968)

On the auspicious day of the anniversary of Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti's

inauguration in 1940, exactly 61 years later, 26.4.2001, we are happy to

announce that Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti has now taken a firm foothold on

the World Wide Web, at two different web-sites, www.gaudiya.com and

www.gaudiya.net.

Being aware of the fact that there is a need to provide inspiration to the

devotees and to the public alike, we have divided their contents

accordingly.

www.gaudiya.com is a web-site aimed at the larger public, and it contains

all the basic information about Gaudiya Vaishnavism, condensed on its ten

main pages. This is most likely the address you'd like to add to the

introductory flyer you pass out to people.

www.gaudiya.net is the online resource of Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti. As its

most important feature, it contains an extensive library of Gaudiya

Vaishnava literature, both from contemporary authors and the past acaryas,

at www.gaudiya.net/library.htm and www.gaudiya.net/articles.htm

respectively.

On this day, in addition to visiting the site, we invite the assembled

devotees to pay special attention to an article about the foundation of Sri

Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti at www.gaudiya.net/samiti.htm as well as the

biographies of some of the great personalities who were involved in its

founding, namely Srila Bhaktiprajnana Kesava Maharaja, Srila Bhaktivedanta

Swami Prabhupada and Sripad Bhaktivedanta Vamana Maharaja.

In concluding, we offer our hearfelt gratitude to paramaradhyatama

gurupadapadma Tridandi Bhiksu Sri Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, and all

the countless devotees without whose dedicated efforts the publication of

these sites would not have been possible.

If there would be any comments on the sites, the feedback may be sent to

info (AT) gaudiya (DOT) com or info (AT) gaudiya (DOT) net

In the service of Hari, Guru and Vaishnavas,

some fallen and wretched servants of

Sri Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja
