of Sri Sri Radha Madhava and Sri Mayapur Chandra.

 

Sastras explain the glories of offering a lamp to the Lord:

 

dipa danat param danam na bhutam na bhabisyati

kesavayatane kritwa dipa vriksha manohara.

 

There is no other great offering like offering a lamp to the Lord. There

will be no greater offering like offering a lamp to Lord Sri Hari.

 

dipa danam maha punyam anyadevesu api dhrubam

kim punarvasudevasyanantasya tu mahatmanah.

 

If, by offering a lamp to other demigods, one can accumulate great fortune,

then what to speak of offering a lamp to Vasudeva. There is no doubt that

one will accumulate unlimited good fortune by offering a lamp to Lord

Vasudeva.
