Guest guest
Dear Aghavit das. Jaya Prabhupada. When I was last in Mayapura March 1st, I asked Srimati dasi about Bhaktivinode thakura's writings about the holy name of Krsna. She mentioned to me that 4 years ago you had done some research in Calcutta on this and had compiled a lot of articles on the subject. I'm Harinama Chintamini, the Thakura writes one description of the holy name. O hare.... O Krsna.... O hare... O Krsna...etc (in this way 16 different sentences with prayerful meditation on the meaning of the holy name). Basically (to my blunt intelligence) it looks like a definition of the holy name appreciated by a sadhaka aspiring for service in Madhurya rasa. I heard from Srimati (quoting information purportedly received as a result of your research) that Bhaktivinode Thakura wrote one description of the Holy name from the platform of Sakhya rasa appreciation. Do you have this? Or have you heard of anything like this from either the Thakura's writings or the writings of any of the other acharyas? I'm asking this because when I chant hare Krsna. I naturally focus on Krsna's form. Then when I chant Hare Rama- I meditate on Sri Balarama's beautiful White form. Yet, aside from that our achar must have some sastric precedence. We have to live Bhakti by Sastric Pramana. so Is there any Sastric Pramana for such a meditation on the holy name as I mention it, or is the one mentioned by Bhaktivinode the only understanding of the meaning of the Hare Krsna Mahamantra? ys MMDASBR
