Guest guest
Dear Devotees, We should pay attention to the fact that the injunctions for following Ekadasi have their origin in the Hari Bhakti Vilasa, and these rules were not compiled from the Puranas just for the sake of making a show of scholarship. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself empowered the six Gosvamis to establish Vaishnava-sadachara, or the correct rules of conduct and practice for the devotees, which they did by their example and in their writings. In regards to "Srila Prabhupada never introduced this.", we may present dozens of things, both philosophy- and practice-wise, that Srila Prabhupada never introduced. This does not mean that they are bad. This does not mean that one should not discuss them. There is a specific purpose to every rule, regulation and instruction the Gosvamis presented, and in the course of time, we are to adopt them all.
