I'm afraid that if you wait for concensus on this issue you may be waiting for an age of Brahma. I would sugget a common sense approach. The minimum standard is no grains or beans, that comes from Srila Prabhupada -- who can argue with it? Just like 16 rounds is the minimum, but if you can do more, then good. So for Ekadasi, no grains no beans is the minimum. If you can do more, good -- Rama Kesava Prabhu has kindly provided a list, and I'm sure there are many others who will be happy to help you. Only please, have some kindness upon those of us who choose to do only the minimum standard that Srila Prabhupada set forward. Guest guest
> And with all due respect, this conference is not "Prabhupada" pastimes > (that does exist too) - but *Krsna* katha. As long as Krsna's pastimes are > not discussed in a way of which Prabhupada would disapprove - what is the > problem? (as we saw recently, that did happen with some of Gauranga's > texts and it was taken care of). My objection is not to Rama Kesava Prabhu's innocent text, but to a comment on a comment on the text, which seems to belittle Srila Prabhupada's instructions on Ekadasi. While Gauranga's texts were blatant, there have been other texts more subtly trying to show that there are higher standards to follow and higher bhakti yoga practises than what Srila Prabhupada taught.
