Vedicly speaking, I've heard that women are not supposed to allow their breasts to touch the earth, the reason given is that this is offensive to Bhumi devi. I saw on my daily vrndvana city parikrama, that certainly in Vraja during purushottama adhika masa I saw, without any exceptions, a large number of all the vrajavasi ladies offering dandavats on parikrama *on their sides.* not allowing their breasts to touch the ground. But yes, sastric pramana on this would be nice. perhaps Dinabnadhu Prabu and Daivishakti mataji are in better position to comment here.
