Guest guest
Dear Maharajas and Prabhus Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Day 7. Today we were joined by HH Bhakti Caitanya Maharaja for Parikrama of Goverdhana Hill. "Of all devotees, this Goverdhana Hill is the best, O my friends! This hill supplies Krsna and Balarama, as well as Their calves, cows and cowherd friends, with all kinds of necessities, water for drinking, very soft grass, caves, fruits, flowers and vegetables. In this way the hill offers respect to the Lord. Being touched by the lotus feet of Krsna and Balarama, Goverdhana Hill appears very jubilant". (Srimad Bhagavatam) These are just some of the places we stopped at on the way: Manasi Ganga - After Krsna killed Vatsasaura, His friends told Him that He would have to bathe in the Ganjes for purification. Not wanting to travel such a long distance, Krsna, by His meditation brought the Ganjes here and bathed. Govinda Kund - This is where Indra offered prayers and bathed Krsna, after Krsna lifted Goverdhana Hill. This kund was filled with the ingredients from the abhiseka that bathed Krsna's feet. While Madhavendra Puri stayed here a beautiful blackish boy came to him and gave him a pot of milk. Later in a dream this same boy came and told him where the Deity of Gopal was located. Lautha Baba Mandir - When Akrura was taking Krsna away to Mathura, Lautha, one of Krsna's friends, asked Krsna when He would return. Krnsa told him he would return day after tomorrow. Lautha did not eat or drink anything until He returned. He then came to this place and sat down. Lautha baba is still waiting for Krsna to return. Uddhava Kund - This is the place where Uddhava, after meeting with the gopis, desired to have a future birth as an insignificant clump of grass in Vraja. Day 8. Today we would be doing parikrama of Radhakund. "Of the many objects of favored delight and of all the lovable damsels of Vrajabhumi, Srimati Radharani is certainly the most treasured object of Krsna's love. In every respect, Her divine kund is described by great sages as similarly dear to Him. Undoubtedly Radhakund is very rarely attained even by the great devotees; therefore it is even more difficult for ordinary devotees to attain it. If one simply bathes once within those holy waters, one's pure love of Krsna is fully aroused". While walking around we visited Srila Raghunath Das Goswami's pushpa samadhi and also his bhajan kutir, Krsna dasa Kaviraj's Bhajan kutir, Gopal Bhatta Goswami's bhajan kutir and the samadhis of Raghunath Bhatta Goswami and Krsna Dasa Kaviraja. Also visited: Tongue of Goverdhana - Raghunath Dasa Goswami decided to have a well dug, as the workers dug down, they struck a rock and blood flowed from it. That night in a dream it was revealed to Raghunath Dasa Goswami that the stone was the tongue of Goverdhana and should be worshipped. Bhaktivinoda Thakur's and Bhaktisidhanta's bhajan kutir and pushpa samadhi. Bhaktivinode Thakur's house was built in the beginning of the century and was used as a bhajan kutir. At midnight, the time of the appearance of Radhakund we (and thousands of other devotees from all over India) all took bath in Radhakund.
