If someone wants to accept Sripad Madhvacarya as a diksha disciple of Srila Vyasadeva based on this quote, I would say he is justified to do so. Because we give more weight to the statements of great acaryas in our line like Srila Kavi Karnapura then to biographies in the Madhva line.
