Guest guest
Dear Mahamantra Prabhu, > Where in the sastras is the story of satyakama approaching Gautama Muni to > become his disciple? In one tape of Prabhupada he quotes the Javad > upanishad (sp?) The story is found in the Chandogya Upanishad 4.4.1-5, and Satyakama continues to be mentioned up to 4.10.1. But the most famous part, the one where Satyakama honestly tells Gautama that he has no clue who his father was, is told in 4.4.1-5. The name of the boy's mother was JabAlA and she told him that he could speak of himself as being Satyakama JAbAla. ys end
