Guest guest
Posted by Yaduraja on May 17, 2006: Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! Your position is that I have to prove that when Srila Prabhupada did something, which in this case was to make himself recognized and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON, that he actually wanted to do it. > So please quote Srila Prabhupada's statement saying that if a guru made > himself recognized and accepted as X, then he wanted to be X But your position is self-contradictory. If this were a valid challenge then it would hold for everything Srila Prabhupada ever said or did. In other words if your challenge were valid then one would be able to legitimately argue it is unproven that Srila Prabhupada actually wanted to do or say anything he actually did and said for his entire life. Even if Srila Prabhupada said he wanted to do something, or be something, by your argument it must hold that he may not have wanted to make that statement. Unless your philosophy is that the spiritual master only wants to do things he directly says he wants to do, but never the things he did but never explicitly stated. If this is your philosophy, please show me where it is stated by Srila Prabhupada that when the guru does something he may not have wanted to do it, but when he says something he always wanted to say it? (Don’t forget what he ‘did’ led directly to what he ‘became’ in the sentence you agree is proven) Good luck proving your unique and previously unheard of form of Vaisnava philosophy. Best wishes Ys Yadu
