Very wonderful auspicious Vyas Puja for Tamala Krishna Goswami.. June 6, 2004

Many offerings were given, Guru Prasada Swami gave an interesting offering-He

said I met Goswami when he had those black rimmed glasses. I thought to

myself anyone who would wear those glasses must be a dedicated servant of

Srila Prabhupada and everytime I would see Tamala Krishna Goswami –I would

think that. To me he exemplified a Prabhupada man. Another time we were

together he told me there was a problem at Gita Nigari-they could not pay for

the farm. He arrived there and it was beautiful setting with rolling hills and

devotes smiling and chanting…after I was there for a few days –no one was

smiling. He‘d impressed upon them the importance of each doing some service to

support Gita Nagari. Guru Prasada said for him Tamal Krishna Goswami

exemplified cent per cent serving Srila Prabhupada. Tamal Krishna Goswami was

expert in greeting devotees. He would greet and take care so nicely of a

devotees, even those he might have been diametrically opposed with. It was

amazing-he was so loving and so kind –the 100% proper vedic host. There also

was heartfelt offing by Bhakta Carl his brother. Offerings were given by

Keshvava Bharti Goswami, Nityananda dasa from Dallas,Mathuranath dasa from

Dallas, Padma d.d.from Hong Kong, Shyamala Shaki dasi from England and others.

After the offerings there was a Puspanjali prayer followed by a prasadam

offering and kirtan led by Brahama Samita dasa.

Then a huge feast with many of Tamal Krishna’s favorite dishes including many

Indian dishes, sweets, strawberry cake and freshly made pizza pies.

About 500 people attended the festival at Houston’s Gauranga Hall-where the

night before a wedding had taken place. That was boon for all of those

attending vyas puja because the tables and chairs were left –so everyone took

prasadam in wedding tables. It was a hot day roughly 90 some degrees but the

cool air conditioning in Gauranga hall kept every one chilled but with a

warm heart.
