Guest guest
Dear devotees, Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I have a Video Cassette of a Hindi religious movie named 'Tulsi Vivah" meaning 'Marriage of Tulsi' in which it is shown how Vrindadevi worships Lord Visnu from childhood & later marries Jalandhar who becomes very powerful, wages war against the demigods & becomes unconquerable because of Vrindadevi's worshipping Lord Visnu & praying for his welfare. Jalandhar dislikes this & imprisons her and tortures her but still she prays for his welfare & even Lord Visnu in battle cannot defeat him. It is also shown that Jalandhar captures Lord Siva's consort Parvati & desires to make her his maid servant. Thus all the demigods pray to Lord Visnu who then comes disguised as Jalandhar to her although Jalandhar is engaged in battle. Since Jalandhar is with her Vrindadevi stops praying for his welfare and then he is killed. When Vrindadevi discovers this she gets very angry & curses Lord Visnu to become a stone due to which the whole universe starts getting annihilated without a maintainer & Laxmidevi then requests Vrindadevi to take back her curse which she does so and then Vrindadevi immolates herself. Lord Visnu then gives her a benediction & she becomes Tulasidevi. Then Lord Visnu marries her & states that HE SHALL NEVER ACCEPT ANY OFFERING WITHOUT TULASI. This is the story in brief and I wanted to know whether it is authentic and mentioned anywhere in the scriptures. I heard there is a book available "Life of Srimati Tulasi Devi" by Amala Bhakta Dasa but don't know where it is available. Can anyone please help me regarding the above. your servant/haresh.
