TRANSLATION

[®ukadeva Gosv€m… continued:] Thus firmly fixing his determination by means

of his spiritual intelligence, Sud€m€ remained absolutely devoted to Lord

KŠa, the shelter of all living beings. Free from avarice, he enjoyed,

together with his wife, the sense pleasures that had been bestowed upon him,

always with the idea of eventually renouncing all sense gratification."

 

It is significant that Sudama, even though enjoying the royal opulences

bestowed upon him by Krsna Himself, was always prepaared to give them up and

saw renouncing them all as the only outcome of his family life.
