Guest guest
>> Very interesting. A midwife will not spank a newborn to make them >> breathe as doctors generally do. This hurts and makes babies cry, I >> remember. >Do you remember you being spanked or your child(ren). re: the birth process: "of the six changes of every living entity, the first is deliverance form the womb and that is Krsna." Bhagavad Gita, 10.34. Our first child was quiet and only cried after the doctor gave her a slap. The second child, delivered by midwives didn't make a sound. I kept asking, "Is she breathing? Is she breathing?" thinking that children took that first breath that separated them from the umbilical cord by crying out. No so. My child lay there quietly, breathing, by Krsna's grace, easily. If anyone has Mendelson's book, "Confessions of a Medical Heretic", he may mention his views on child birth in a hospital, although now many hospitals have modern birthing rooms. Srila Prabhupada equates birth with death. The whole process is painful, from beginning to end. Lets all go back to Godhead-- no more birth and death in this material world. ys _________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Guest guest
> There is no question of sadness in heavenly planets, since heavenly > planets are meant only/strictly for enjoyment. If you see another person > feeling sad, then you may start sympathising with him and yourself may > start feeling sad. "NO SIR. NO WAY", goes the story. According to it, in > heavenly planets, life is simply enjoyment. You simply "freak out" and > have a gala time all your life. All 100 years of it. Not a fraction of > second are you in misery. With all due respect to Avadhuta prabhu, this statement seems to be an example of circular reasoning: the is no misery on the heavenly planets because they are meant only for enjoyment. And of course they are meant only for enjoyment, otherwise why there is no miseries there? Just one out of many quotes from Srila Prabhupada (SB 2.2.2): "The Lord says that even the topmost planet, known as the Brahmaloka or Satyaloka (and what to speak of other planets, like the heavenly planets) is not a happy place for residential purposes, due to the presence of material pangs..." One could also consider examples of Aditi and other demigods harrased by the demons headed by Bali Maharaja, a story of King Gajendra that happened on the heavenly planets, numerous calamities of King Indra etc. Your servant, Madana-mohana das

And now may I conclude that by the mercy of the devotees, the bogusness of this village story (gramya katha!) now has now been conclusively shown! :-) yfs Avadhut das
