Guest guest
* * * * * WOULD`NT IT BE A GREAT PREACHING IDEA TO MAKE A POSTER * * * * * WHICH WE CAN HANG ALL OVER THE WORLD . . . a poster with a smiling Lord Krishna with the following text: This is Sri Krishna, the all merciful Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is so mercyful that if you do not fast on His birthday He will send you to hell where you are, as long as the sun and moon shine in the sky, being devoured by worms with teeth sharp like spears. When your time in hell is over you will rise to the earth, where you become a worm in stool for sixty thousand years. Then you will become a vulture for ten billion births, a pig for a hundred births, a dog for a hundred births, and a jackal for a hundred births. Then you will become a snake for seven births and then a row for seven births. Then you`ll take birth as a human being, where you are unable to speak and where you become a leper, always suffering. Then you will become a butcher and then a hunter of wild beasts. At the end you become a thief and a murderer, a man with no scruples. Then you will become a washerman, then an oil-merchant, and then a professional brahmana, always impure at heart. ALL GLORIES TO THE ALL MERCYFUL LORD SRI KRISHNA ! **************************************************************************** I would personally rather to Bhaktivinoda Thakuras idea that the different hells do not exist and that they are rather poetic descriptions by the kings to make even the low class people follow religious principles. Probably its such a great merit to fast on Janmastami that the Brahma vaivarta Purana just wants to make shure that even real low class guys who are only impressed with fear of hell, make some advancement. Its my speculation, but I can live with it better than with a picture of such an extremely cruel and egoistic Lord. ys
