Guest guest
>> The Greatest Success in the World------SELF-FULFILLMENT & PEACE OF MIND >> (Number of Srila Prabhupada's books distributed) > >Rather: Number of people reading and applying Srila Prabhupada's books in >their lives. If this were the case only then Prabhupada would have never cared to hear the book scores. He would have said only when the people read & apply it in their lives then this book distribution would be successful. But he said that somehow get the books out there. The books will find their own customers. The books are like time-bombs. More the bombs thrown, more is the damage to the enemy in the short run & long run. When the book scores were read out to him (even in his last days) he used to sit upright and become ecstatic upon hearing them. Just the increase in the no. of books distributed purifies the atmosphere and is a dent in Maya's territory. Because people are purified even if they touch, give a donation for the book or keep it in their home. Thus we simply have to double the book distribution every year and the books will do the rest because the books (infallible knowledge) are more powerful that us (fallible). The following quotes prove that if anyone purchases a vaisnava literature and keeps it in his home (may not even read it) he has the following benefits: TISTHATE VAISNAVAM SASTRAM LIKHITAM YASYA MANDIRE TATRA NARAYANO DEVAH SVAYAM VASATI NARADA (HARI BHAKTI VILASA 10/371 SKANDA PURANA, conversation between Lord Brahma and Narada Muni) Oh Narada, written Vaisnava scriptures, if any one has them in their house, then Lord Sri Narayana live there. NA YASYA TISTHATE GEHE SASTRAM BHAGAVATAM KALAU NA TASYA PUNARAVRTIR YAMYAT PASAT KADACANA (HARI BHAKTI VILASA 10/382 SKANDA PURANA conversation between Lord Krsna and Arjuna) In Kaliyuga, if there is no Srimad Bhagavatam scripture in a person's house, he can never become free from the clutches of Yamaraja. YATRA YATRA BHAVED VIPRA SASTRAM BHAGAVATAM KALAU TATRA TATRA HARIR YATI TRIDASAIH SAHA NARADA (HARI BHAKTI VILASA 10/384 SKANDA PURANA,conversation between Lord Krsna and Arjuna) In Kaliyuga, wherever the Srimad Bhagavatam is situated, O great sage Narada, Lord Sri Hari reaches there with all the demigods. Some quotes by Srila Prabhupada in this regard: "Distributing the books will make devotees." Devotee (2): We are giving these books to so many common men. Then the books will attract them to perhaps chanting and following the regulative principles. Prabhupada: Yes, if they read. ***EVEN IF THEY TOUCH****. That is the difference between this book and ordinary book. Even they touch and they read one line and says, “Oh, it is very nice,” he makes a step forward. If he simply says this word, “Oh, it is very nice,” that is sufficient to bring him. Therefore I am trying to push. He has paid some money. He will then say, “What these nonsense have written. Let me see.” (laughter) And if he sees and says, “Oh, it is very nice,” then the beginning is immediately. Therefore we are trying to push. Your servant, Nayana-ranjana dasa br.
