Guest guest
Dear Prabhus,Maharajas, and Matajis PAMHO AGTSP Today is the disapperence day of Lord Caitanyas spiritual master Isvara Puri. In the CC Krsna das Kaviraja writes:"All glories to Madhavendra Puri the storehouse of all Krsna Prema. He is the desire tree of bhakti and it to him that the seed of bhakti first fructified. The seed of Krsna Prema next fructified in the form of Sri Isvara Puri, and the gardner Himself ,Caitanya Mahaprabhu, became the main trunk of the tree of bhakti". Isvara Puri was a resident of Kumarhatts and became the most beloved disciple of Srila Madhavendra Puri. At the last stage of his life Madhavendra Puri was invalid and unabel to move, and Isvara Puri completly engaged himself in his service and he personally cleaned up his stool and urine.Always chanting Hare Krsna and reminding Sri Madhavendra Puri about the pastimes of Sri Krsna in this last stage of his life,Isvara Puri gave the best service among his disciples. Thus by the grace of his spiritual master ,he also became a great devotee floating in the ocean of love of Krsna. Actually Isvara Puri stayed at the house of Gopinath Acarya in Navadvipa Dhama. There he stayed for a few months. At that time he met Nimai Pandita and asked Him to help him with his book Krns lilamrita. The Lord was highly please with Isvara Puri devotion and highly praised his book, saying it was faultless.Still when he was pressed,he made some corrections with His own lotus hands. While in Navadvipa Isvara Puri also met Advaita Acarya, who also was a disciple of Madhavendra Puri. Actually Isvara Puri one day was standing at the footpath near where he lived. And the footpath was blessed with the the divine Lotus footsteps of Lord Caitanya. At that time the Lord was returning home from school. Amazed at the LOrds bodily beauty,he addressed Nimai:"O best of the brahmins! What is your name?Where is your house? And what book are you reading?" Nimai invited Isvara puri to His house with sweet words, and invited him for Prasadam.Sri Gaurasundara washed the lotusfeet of Isvara Puri, with His own lotushands.Later they took prasadam cooked and offered by M.Saci. And then they entered the temple of Visnu and discussed about Krsna for long time. For one month Isvara Puri stayed in Navadvipa and would be invited by Lord Gauranga constantly to visit him,And sometimes Isvara Puri would invite Lord Caitanya. It is a bit lengthy so I will write a second part later, this evening. YS Payonidhi das
