Guest guest
>clear yet how many he factually chanted. Personally I don't mind at all if >he chanted 4 rounds, because his Guru Maharaja approved that. There is nowhere in the authorized biographies of BSST that he approved 4 rounds. Prabhupada never told us about this 'so-called' instruction by his Guru Maharaja. And obviously Prabhupada knows all the instructions of BSST better than anyone else. If BSST had indeed recommended 4 rounds for preachers, Prabhupada would not have had any objection in introducing the same standard for the ISKCON preachers. After BSST's disappearence, some disciples must have spread this idea. I think here the intention is to justify the 'four rounds initiation' going on in Gaudiya Math by falsely claiming that even the founder of ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada used to chant four rounds. Infact for ISKCON, Prabhupada established 4 GRANTHIS (not 4 rounds) i.e. 16 ROUNDS, which seems the standard which BSST wanted for preachers. So Prabhupada did everything as per the desire of his Guru Maharaj. And also Prabhupada is an ideal acarya, so he has to practise what he preaches. This he has repeatedly stressed in his books. So there is absolutely no doubt, that Prabhupada chanted atleast 16 rounds everyday. Your servant, Nayana-ranjana dasa
